This text is from actual pins I’ve seen on Pinterest. And they’re all extremely unreasonable.
Let’s take a brief, closer look at why:
“Lose 10 lbs in a week!”
If it works, that’s mostly water weight.
It takes a deficit of about 3,500 calories to lose one pound. Since 3,500 calories is well over what many of us should eat in a day, it’s easy to see that the math just doesn’t add up.
The article on the other side of this pin probably has you starving yourself or doing something else that just isn’t sustainable and certainly isn't healthy. In the end, it won’t stick and you’ll be frustrated and sad.
“Slim arms in just 10 minutes”
This was for a 10 minute arm workout. While working out the arms is great, adding a 10 minute workout to your day with no other lifestyle changes will not give you the results you're looking for. And it’s just not possible to target one part of the body for fat loss.
“Skinny legs workout!”
Same thing - it's not possible to spot reduce like this. Plus since this is a workout, the exercises you’re doing will build muscle on the legs. So you might actually be making them BIGGER.
These messages communicate information and promises that aren’t real or healthy, but they’ve become the norm. It’s frustrating for those of us in healthcare (I’m both a registered nurse and a certified personal trainer) and for consumers who just want to get healthy.

1. Who is this program for?
It was created for busy, career-driven women ages 30-65. However if you're older or younger that doesn't necessarily mean you can't join! As long as you are 18 years of age and are willing to put in some serious effort in the name of health and weight loss, this program is for you.
2. Do the workouts require any running or jumping?
All workouts are low impact, so they require no running or jumping whatsoever. This is because those who are overweight or obese are more at risk for joint pain and injury with high impact exercises. Trust me, you still get a great workout without running and jumping!
3. Do you provide an eating plan that will tell me what to eat and when?
The eating plan with this program tells how to eat to maximize your weight loss, as well as provides access to over 90 healthy recipes. It does not tell you exactly what to eat and when, as every person is different. Don't worry though, I've included a sample day of eating and all the guidelines you need to be successful. This way of eating is customizable to your particular lifestyle while still being extremely effective - THAT'S how you achieve long-term results.
4. Do I have to start this 30 day program on a certain day?
Yes! The first workout of this program is scheduled on a Saturday (any Saturday!). That first weekend is intended for preparation: learning the common exercises we'll use, reviewing the ebook, filling out the goal worksheet, taking your starting measurements, and planning your food for the first full week. On Monday (Day 3), you'll start following the eating plan and begin the regular workout routine.
5. I have an underlying medical condition. Can I still participate?
This program is intended for healthy individuals only. If you have an underlying condition, including but not limited to high blood pressure, heart disease, congestive heart failure, dysrhythmias, diabetes, or a joint issue, you must always consult your physician before beginning any exercise or eating program.
6. Do I need any equipment for this program?
Yes, you will need a light set of dumbbells (3-5 lbs) and a medium set of dumbbells (8-10 lbs) for this program, as well as an exercise mat or pad for your knees.
7. Is there a guarantee?
Yes! The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) state that a healthy rate of weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week (4-8 lbs per month). That is what this program aims for. If you have implemented all the strategies this program covers and do not lose at least 4 lbs during your 30 day program, you can email me for a full refund within 60 days of purchase. All I ask is that you submit proof of your efforts as detailed in my refund policy.
8. Are there any hidden fees?
Nope! This program has a one-time fee of $77. The only other fee you may encounter is tax at check-out depending on your location.
9. I want to lose more than 4-8 lbs. What do I do once the 30 days is over?
You can repeat this program as many times as you like. Once the 4 weeks have passed, you can go right back to week 1 (skipping the preparatory weekend since you already know how the program works). If you have a high weight loss goal, say 50 lbs, just make sure that you take a "down week" every 3 months. You can still exercise, but keep it light or every other day during this week to allow your body to rest.
